Cappadocia Red Tour
Known as the Red Tour, this Cappadocia tour will take you to historical sights found in the central and northern region of Cappadocia, including Zelve Open Museum, Çavuşin, Pasabağ, Devrent Valley, Uçhisar and more!
Itinerary:
- 09:30 AM: Pickup from your hotel in Cappadocia
- Uçhisar Castle: The first stop is at Uçhisar Castle, the highest rock formation in Cappadocia. The guide will explain how this unique landscape came about.
- Zelve Open Air Museum: Learn about the significance of Christianity and monastic life in the region before leaving you to explore the 10th and 11th-century cave churches and monasteries with beautiful frescoes depicting famous biblical scenes.
- Çavuşin Village: Visit the old Greek houses, abandoned after the Greek/Turkish population exchange in 1924.
- Lunch in Avanos: Enjoy a traditional Cappadocian lunch with a variety of mezes, salads, meats, vegetarian dishes, and desserts.
- Avanos Pottery Workshop: Visit a family-run pottery workshop located in an underground cave, where the ancient tradition of pottery dating back to the Hittites (1700 BC) continues. Watch a master potter at work and try making your own pot on the wheel. See how the painters and glazers apply the patterns delicately.
- Paşabağı (Monks Valley): Explore the fascinating multi-headed, mushroom-shaped “fairy chimneys” and the Chapel of Saint Simeon, a historical site.
- Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley): Wander through the valley and discover rock formations resembling familiar shapes, including the famous camel-shaped rock. Use your imagination to spot other figures.
- Approx 4:00 PM: Return to your hotel

- Cancellations made more than 48 hours from the start of the tour will not be charged.
- Cancellations made between 24-48 hours from the start of the tour will be charged 50% of the amount due.
- No shows, and cancellations made within 24 hours of the start of the start time will be charged 100% of the amount due.
